The Nsu-Community Elite Congress (NcEC) has launched a community-wide sensitisation campaign to confront the growing dangers of drug abuse, cultism, kidnapping and other forms of delinquent behaviour threatening the peace, safety and future of the Nsu people in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area, Imo State.
The highly commendable initiative is designed to reach all nine towns in Nsu Clan, taking the message directly to villages, wards and households. It is a collective call for vigilance, responsibility and early intervention before these social vices become deeply rooted in the community.
Drug abuse and cult activities are particularly dangerous because they can destroy young lives, promote violence and create an environment in which other forms of criminality can flourish. The growing incidence of delinquent behaviour and kidnapping therefore demands that every responsible citizen becomes part of the solution.

The sensitisation campaign is only the beginning. NcEC says it will be followed by further deterrent, preventive and community-based measures aimed at discouraging criminality and strengthening the protection of lives and property.
NEC, under the leadership of its President, Chukwuma Njokuoma, has appealed to all village heads to urgently amplify the message within their respective wards and ensure that no household is left uninformed.
Parents, youths, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community organisations and other stakeholders, it stressed, all have crucial roles to play in protecting the community and its younger generation.
Njokuoma warned that Nsu must not wait for tragedy before taking action.
“We should not wait until our children become victims or our communities are overwhelmed before we act. Early action saves lives, protects families and preserves the future.”
He added: “Nsu must rise. Nsu must protect its people. Nsu must preserve its future.”»

The NcEC, therefore, urges every village head, ward leader and community stakeholder to sound the message throughout the villages and ensure its widest possible dissemination.
The best protection is timely prevention; the cost of early action is always less than the price of repairing the damage caused by neglect.
The major thrust of the campaign is: NSU MUST ACT NOW. NSU MUST PROTECT ITS FUTURE!
