The political momentum behind Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba’s bid for the Senate in 2027 gathered fresh force on Tuesday as the Transformation Agenda formally opened its campaign office in Ihitte-Uboma Local Government Area of Okigwe Zone.
The opening, which came on the heels of the increasingly visible alignment of several constituents behind the United States-trained attorney, was more than a routine political ceremony. It offered another striking indication that the Onyirimba movement is steadily evolving from a campaign into a broad-based political groundswell spreading across Okigwe Zone.
Only a few days ago, all the women leaders of the African Democratic Party, ADC, publicly declared their support for Onyirimba and vowed to work for his victory.
The Ihitte Uboma campaign office opening was presided over by the Director General of the Charles Onyirimba Transformation Agenda Campaign Organisation, Mrs. Favour Nwelue, whose presence underscored the strategic importance attached to the event.
It drew the Ihitte-Uboma Local Government Area coordinators of the Transformation Agenda, ward coordinators, executives and a broad gathering of political stakeholders, supporters and enthusiasts who turned out to identify with Onyirimba’s aspiration.
What began as an official opening quickly assumed the atmosphere of a political carnival. The enthusiasm of the crowd, the visible mobilisation across the wards and the excitement surrounding the event suggested that the Onyirimba candidacy is generating energy well beyond the confines of conventional campaign structures.
For supporters, the significance was unmistakable: the Transformation Agenda is putting down roots.
Across Okigwe Zone, the campaign has increasingly presented itself as a movement built around a simple proposition, that the senatorial seat should become an instrument for effective representation, development and renewed political confidence.
The Ihitte-Uboma event, therefore, becomes another piece in a rapidly emerging political picture. From the growing support among women leaders to the strengthening of grassroots structures, the Onyirimba campaign appears to be building an organisation capable of reaching communities at the ward and local-government levels.
The presence of ward coordinators and executives at the event was particularly significant. Grassroots politics is ultimately measured not only by the size of rallies, but by the strength of structures capable of sustaining engagement between political events. The establishment of a dedicated campaign office in Ihitte-Uboma signals an intention to maintain that connection.
For the Transformation Agenda, the message from Ihitte-Uboma was therefore both symbolic and practical: the campaign is moving closer to the people.
The growing excitement surrounding Onyirimba also reflects the deep yearning for a new political direction in Okigwe Zone, one that places competence, capacity, exposure, accessibility and commitment to public service above the familiar politics of personalities and political calculations.
As the 2027 contest gradually takes shape, the question will increasingly be whether this emerging enthusiasm can translate into a formidable electoral organisation.
Tuesday’s development suggests that the process is already underway.
With campaign structures expanding, women leaders showing increasing interest, ward-level mobilisation intensifying and local-government offices opening across the zone, and an imposing campaign headquarters already in place, the Onyirimba campaign is steadily moving from political promise to organisational reality.
The groundswell is building. The structures are taking shape. And across Okigwe Zone, the political conversation appears to be changing.
For the Transformation Agenda, Ihitte-Uboma was not merely another campaign-office opening.
It was another declaration that the Onyirimba movement intends to contest every inch of Okigwe Zone, community by community, ward by ward and local government by local government.
