What began as a formal notification to his community ended as a powerful demonstration of solidarity, hope, and political conviction as Attorney Charles Onyirimba officially informed the people of Umuduruegwele community in Umueze-2, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, of his decision to contest for the Okigwe Senate seat on the platform of the Action Democratic Party (ADP).

The gathering drew hundreds of enthusiastic supporters, elders, women, youths, community leaders, and well-wishers, transforming what was expected to be a routine consultation into a resounding endorsement of Onyirimba’s senatorial ambition.

Indeed, it was another awesome day, and a memorable gathering of the vibrant youths of Umuduruegwelle Community united in support of the aspiration of Attorney Charles Onyirimba for the Okigwe Zone Senate seat in 2027.

The event drew an enthusiastic crowd of young people who turned out in large numbers to demonstrate their belief in a new political direction for Okigwe Zone. The atmosphere was charged with excitement, hope, and a shared determination to be part of the movement for positive change.

Speaker after speaker, among whom was Engr Udodiri Onyirimba, extolled his leadership qualities, commitment to the development of Okigwe Zone, and his determination to offer a fresh alternative to a people increasingly eager for change. The atmosphere was charged with optimism as supporters openly pledged not only to vote for him but also to become ambassadors of his message across the six local government areas that make up Okigwe Zone.

Many described the occasion as a defining moment in the political journey of the zone, arguing that Onyirimba’s emergence represents a growing desire among the people to embrace competence, vision, and people-oriented leadership.

The high point of the gathering came when the youth leader, Obinna Stephen (Ikenga), speaking on behalf of the community’s youth population, delivered a passionate declaration that captured the mood of the occasion.

“We are gathered today to declare that Attorney Charles Onyirimba will represent us in the Senate,” he proclaimed.

“As we speak, the land is hearing us and rejoicing. Nothing shall hinder him. Together with my executive members and the elders of Umuduruegwele, we take this stand and pray that Attorney Charles Onyirimba must go for us and represent Okigwe Zone in the Senate. He must go for us. His voice will be heard. He is our own. I declare today that Onyirimba shall occupy the Senate seat of Okigwe Zone on the platform of the ADP. He shall be unstoppable.”

The declaration was greeted with thunderous applause, chants of support, and visible excitement from the crowd, many of whom interpreted the moment as more than a political endorsement but a collective expression of faith in a candidate they believe possesses the capacity to champion the interests of the zone.

Observers noted that beyond the speeches and symbolism, the gathering reflected a growing grassroots movement around Onyirimba’s candidacy. Several supporters pledged to mobilise their families, friends, communities, and voting blocs in support of his aspiration, insisting that the task ahead extends beyond Duruegwele to every corner of Okigwe Zone.

Beyond the youths, the gathering also attracted respected elders, commercial motorcycle operators, and supporters from various communities across Ehime Mbano, Isiala Mbano, and Ihitte-Uboma Local Government Areas, all of whom came in solidarity with Attorney Dr. Charles Chibuike Onyirimba.

For Onyirimba, the event was not merely about declaring an ambition. It was about seeking the blessing, support, and mandate of the people from whom he draws his roots. And judging by the overwhelming response, the message from Umuduruegwele was unmistakable: the community has embraced the project and is prepared to stand firmly behind one of its own.

As the gathering dispersed, one sentiment echoed repeatedly among attendees: the journey to the Senate may have formally begun, but for many in Umuduruegwele, the mission has already become a collective responsibility.
