Ogun man in trouble for defiling, impregnating minor

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly defiling and impregnating a minor.

The suspect, who was identified as Samuel Ani, is accused of having unlawful carnal knowledge of the 14-year-old girl (name withheld) in the Sagamu area of the state.

Ani was caught while defiling the girl at about 2 pm on Wednesday.

Omolola Odutola, the police spokesperson in the state, on Friday confirmed the incident, saying it was reported to the command by the victim’s father.

She added that the suspect, who was also said to have impregnated the victim, confessed to the crime during interrogation.

“The father, known only as Paul, had approached the division to report the crime suspect committed against his daughter,” the police spokesperson said.

“The suspect allegedly defiled the minor and is also accused of impregnating her. The 28-year-old suspect had been arrested and detained by the command.

“The matter will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department once the preliminary investigation is completed.

“In the meantime, the survivor has been taken to a hospital for medical examination.”
