A cement truck reportedly belonging to Dangote company suffered brake failure and veered into the Ayetoro market, killing no fewer than three people and injuring several others.
The fatal accident occured at the Ayetoro junction along the Lekki-Epe axis of Lagos State, as the truck descended from Ita-Opo.

It was gathered that it lost control and  collided with a tricycle and a parked Toyota Camry before veering into the Ayetoro complex and market area.

Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene, with a tow truck already working to evacuate the wreckage vehicle and clear the road.

In a post on its official X,  Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, confirmed that three corpses we’re recoverd from the incident and deposited at Epe General Hospital mortuary.

“3 lives were lost and they’ve been taken to the morgue at Epe General Hospital while we have a Tow truck on ground to evacuate the affected vehicles,” the post read in part.

“Traffic has been diverted for easy vehicular movement.”

However, it advised commuters to avoid the Ita-Opo to Ayetoro route and detour from Ita-Opo to Shade or via the roundabout near the General Hospital.
