The lawmaker representing Onitsha North Constituency in the Anambra House of Assembly, Justice Azuka, has been abducted by unknown persons.
He was abducted on Tuesday night along Ugwunapampa Road in Onitsha North Local Government Area of Anambra State while returning home for the Christmas celebration.
Tochukwu Ikenga, the state police spokesperson, confirmed the development in a statement on Wednesday evening, saying Azuka was abducted at about 9:20 p.m.
Ikenga added that steps have been initiated by the police to ensure his release and arrest of the perpetrators.
