The family of the late Christopher Onuoha Kenkwo of Umuduruewuru, Umuezeala Nsu Autonomous Community, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area, Imo State, is set to commit their mother, Ezinne Celestina Nmanougbo Kenkwo (Egodiya), aged 112 years, to rest.
The event comes up on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
According to obsequies signed on behalf of the family by Mr. Donatus Kenkwo, a wake-keep service will be held at the family compound on Friday, January 2, 2026.
The remains of the late matriarch shall depart from Aladinma Mortuary, Owerri, at 7:00 a.m., proceeding to her late husband’s compound for a lying-in-state at 9:00 a.m.
This shall be followed by a funeral mass at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church, Umuezeala Nsu at 10am, and her remains will be interred immediately thereafter at the family compound in Umuezeala Nsu, followed by entertainment of guests.
The late centenarian was a devout Christian mother and referred community leader.
Left to mourn her are her children, including Stella and Anayo, grandchildren, and numerous relations.
