According to a report by the Jerusalem Post, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet security agency have eliminated two senior Hamas security officials in airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.
According to the reports, the IDF and Shin Bet forces targeted and killed Hassan Abu Kuwaik, the head of the Security Operations Department in the Central Camps District of Hamas’s Internal Security system, as well as Nasser Mahana, a team leader in Hamas’s military intelligence.
Kuwaik was a high-ranking Hamas terrorist and a member of the emergency movement committee, responsible for orchestrating numerous attacks against Israel. Mahana, a team leader in Hamas’s military intelligence, was also eliminated in the strikes.
The targeted killings come amid an ongoing Israeli military campaign in Gaza, which began in October 2023 following a deadly Hamas-led terror attack in southern Israel.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to continue the war until all of Israel’s objectives are achieved, despite growing public discontent and international pressure.
