Two men have landed in trouble in Ondo State for allegedly doing the unthinkable by impregnating their own daughters.
The duo, Azeez Lamidi and Oyewole Adamolekun, has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command in separate incidents.
The suspects were arrested, following reports from concerned citizens and subsequent medical confirmation that they had sexually abused their victims.
One of the suspects, Azeez Lamidi, was arrested for allegedly impregnating his 14-year-old daughter and then trying to conceal the crime.
The situation came to light on October 9, 2025, when a neighbor, identified only as Salami, alerted authorities after the teenage girl began bleeding profusely.
SP Olayinka Ayanlade, the State Police spokesperson, Lamidi, a resident of Ogbagi Akoko in the Akoko North-West Local Government Area, had allegedly administered abortion-inducing drugs to the victim, which medical examinations have confirmed.
The minor is now receiving special medical attention at the State Specialist Hospital, Igbatoro.
In the case of the second suspect, Oyewole Adamolekun, he was nabbed in Taye Village, Odigbo Local Government Area, over alleged prolonged incestuous relationship with his daughter, aged 15 years, which also led to pregnancy.
Mr. Julius Olusola, a concerned resident, reporters the abomination to the Enu-Owa Divisional Police Headquarters.
The police quickly responded by arresting the suspect. Medical examination confirmed the victim was 19 weeks pregnant. Shockingly.
The suspect confessed to the crime during interrogation, an act that he has perpetrated since the minor was just three years old.
Condemning the the spike in sexual abuse and incest cases in the state, Adebowale Lawal, the State Commissioner of Police, has ordered that both cases be immediately transferred to the Command’s Gender Unit for comprehensive investigation and preparation for prosecution.
He assured the public that the police are would ensure that the abused minors received justice, promising that the suspects will have their say before the law.
