A Nigerian Navy Officer, Lt.-Cdr. M. Buba was on Sunday robbed and killed by a hoodlum in Kaduna.
The killing was on Monday confirmed by the State Police Command in Kaduna.
According to DSP Mansir Hassan, the command’s spokesperson, Buba was attacked and robbed near Kawo the fly over yet-to-be identified individuals.
Hassan disclosed that the naval officer was attacked the Naval Officer with a knife and robbed of his mobile phones.
However, he added that an angry mob overpowered beat the suspect to death while he was trying to escape.
He further revealed that though Bubba, who suffered multiple stab wounds rushed to Manaal Hospital, he he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor.
Hassan also said one Suleiman Dahiru, who attempted to help the late Naval officer, was also stabbed in the hand and currently receiving treatment in hospital.
“The body of late Buba has been deposited at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital mortuary.
“The deceased was in his black Toyota vehicle with registration number APP-745HT, when the incident happened,“ the police spokesperson said, adding that investigation into the incident was ongoing to fish out the perpetrator of the heinous crime.
