The Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja has quashed the removal of Mudashiru Obasa as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The court held that the decision by the majority of the House members on January 13, 2025, was illegal, unconstitutional, and void.
The court, in a judgment delivered on Wednesday, also declared the proceedings and resolutions of the House, resulting in Obasa’s removal as null and void.

Obasa had sued the House, Mojisola Meranda, who was appointed as his replacement, contending that his removal did not follow due process.

However, he has since reclaimed his seat as presiding officer of the Lagos Assembly.
