Visitation: Kanu’s legal team raises the alarm

Alloy Ejimakor, the counsel to detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has raised the alarm over the alleged refusal of the Department of State Service ( DSS) to grant Kanu’s legal team opportunity to visit with IPOB leader.

In an alert he raised in his verified X handle, Barr Ejimakor claimed that Kanu’s legal team had vied an application dated February 18th 2025 and received at 13. 50 pm sought approval of DSS to visit with the detainee, apparently in a bid to prepare his defense.

According to the alert, Ejimakor claimed, in his words: “Today the DSS arbitrarily refused us (the legal team), an ex -law maker of Abia State House of Assembly and the family of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from having a visitation with him. This flagrant violation of the Nigerian Constitution and a subsisting court order will not stand ,” the alert reads.

He clarified that the failed visitation was scheduled adding that the team usual file for visitation a day before the scheduled visit, just as in the instant case.
