Amid land grabbing allegations, President Bola Tinubu has thrown his weight behind the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.
Tinubu ranked Wike among his best performing ministers.
Speaking during his first presidential media chat in Lagos State, the president described Wike as focused.
On the controversies trailing the activities of the former Rivers State governor, Tinubu said Nigerians don’t play by the rules.
“He is a good man. Nyesom Wike is a performing Minister. Nigerians lack compliance. We don’t pay our ground rent on time, we don’t remember the things to do,” the president said.
Wike has been variously accused of land grabbing in the FCT and demolition of structures. However, the minister insists that he is on a mission to reclaim and restore the status of the nation’s capital.
