Jeremiah Paul, the prime suspect in the killing of Damilola Olowoyo, a 19-year-old 100-level Biological Science student at the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Kogi State, has narrated how he wooed the lady before luring her to her death to harvest her body parts for money ritual purposes.

Paul, who hailed from Chikun Local Government of Kaduna State confessed: “I came to Kogi State to hustle. I met Damilola last Sunday and approached her and she accepted. We started chatting. I already had it in mind that I want to use Damilola for ritual. I bought codeine and Sprite and mixed it up and gave it to her.”

Speaking further, Paul said he had used Damiloa’s clothes to strangle her and bind her hands and legs before dragging her into a nearby bush where he dismembered her and removed the relevant body parts as instructed by an Ibadan-based native doctor.

He explained that the native doctor had sent him a calabash and a knife through a driver, adding that it was that knife that he used to remove the lady’s body parts, which he put in the calabash, wrapped it up, and gave it to the driver.

Subsequently, the driver sent it to the native doctor at Ibadan via courier after which the native doctor sent him a money ritual soap via courier.

“I put it inside the calabash and wrapped it. I now gave it to the driver who he sent from Ibadan to Lokoja. So, the driver waybill it back to Ibadan. After that, he now waybilled my soap back to Lokoja.

“I met the native doctor on Tiktok and I copied his number and later messaged him on WhatsApp. I went with my friend to Ibadan to see the native doctor.”

Earlier,  the Kogi State Police Command had identified the four suspects involved in the crime as Jeremiah Paul, Emmanuel Otitoju, Banabas Olugbenga and Ajayi Basit Ayomide.

SP William Ovye Aya, the Police spokesman, had said while parading the suspects at the Police headquarters in Lokoja, the state capital, on Friday, disclosed that Paul, lured the deceased to the bush and killed her for money ritual.

He also disclosed how Paul was tracked down and arrested after the police received the report of a missing person.

SP Aya said Paul confessed to the crime, disclosing how he was able to work the deceased, lured her  to an apartment on September 4, 2024, and eventually drugged her drink, which weakened her.

The suspect then took her to her to an uncompleted building where he strangled her to death and dismembered her body, removing

her eyes, lungs, liver, tongue and buttocks for money rituals purposes.

Aya added that the suspect had, even before killing her, called Damilola’s parents to inform them that he had kidnapped her. He demanded a N3m ransom for her release but was paid N400,000.
