Man loses 3 sons to tragic building collapse in Jigawa
Three siblings have died in a building collapse in Birnin Kudu Local Government of Jigawa State.
DSP Lawan Shiisu, the spokesman of the Jigawa State Police Command has confirmed the death of the victims, all males, identified as Khalifa Ahmad, 13, Tijjani Ahmad, 12 and Rabiu Ahmad, also 12.
However, he added that four others survived.
According to Shiisu, Ahmad Isah of Kafar Bai quarters, father of the deceased, on Tuesday, reported the tragedy at Birnin Kudu Division.
“Today (Tuesday), at about 12:05 p.m., one Ahmad Isah of Kofar Bai quarters, Birnin Kudu LGA reported at Brinin Kudu Division that one of the rooms in his house had collapsed,” he said.
“On receipt of the tragic report, a team of policemen raced to the scene and in conjunction with good samaritan launched a rescue operation and were able to evacuate seven persons.
“The victims were quickly rushed to the Birnin Kudu General Hospital for medical attention,” he said, adding that three of the victims were confirmed dead by the doctor on arrival.
The remains of the dead were handed over to their family for burial while the survivors are receiving treatment in hospital.
