Unknown gunmen on Tuesday night killed two security guards at the headquarters of Isiala-Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.
The gunmen also reportedly torched vehicles parked on the premises.
According to sources, the attackers, who stormed the secretariat at about 8.30pm, shot sporadically, killing two vigilante members on duty and setting fire to part of the council building.
The attack on the Imo secretariat came barely two days after unidentified gunmen bombed another local government headquarters in neighbouring Anambra State.
