The 2027 senatorial campaign of Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba has strengthened its field operations with the presentation of a Nissan utility truck to its Director of Security and Police Affairs, Chief Magnus Orjiako, Ohamadike.
The vehicle was presented on Tuesday by the Director-General of the Campaign Council, Mrs. Favour Nwelue, to facilitate Orjiako’s movements across Okigwe Zone as the campaign expands consultations, stakeholder engagements and grassroots mobilisation across the six local government areas.
Receiving the vehicle, Orjiako described the gesture as unexpected but significant.
“I was not expecting it,” he said, adding that the provision of mobility demonstrated that Onyirimba was serious about building an effective campaign organisation.
Orjiako, a former police officer, said Onyirimba’s grassroots consultations were already generating strong mobilisation ahead of the formal campaign.
“What our principal is doing is consultations,” he said. “He has been in close contact with the grassroots. The mobilisation is fantastic. It’s going very well.”
He traced his support for Onyirimba to their previous political relationship, saying his knowledge of the candidate had convinced him of his capacity, competence and experience.
“I know who he is, I know what he can do, his charisma, his capacity and his competence,” he said.
Orjiako also emphasised the importance of legislative knowledge in choosing a senator, arguing that effective representation requires an understanding of lawmaking and legislative processes.
On election security, he urged security personnel to remain professional and protect the integrity of the electoral process.
“They must ensure free and fair elections in this country,” he said, stressing that credible elections ultimately serve the interests of security personnel and their families as well as the wider society.
The vehicle presentation comes on the heels of a similar gift of an Acura SUV to Chief Ferdinand Ogor, the campaign’s Chief Strategic Officer.
It marks another step in the development of the Onyirimba Campaign Council’s operational structure as the Action Democratic Party candidate continues consultations and grassroots mobilisation across Okigwe Zone.
