A prominent lawyer, diplomat, and community leader, Charles Onyirimba has declared that his lifelong passion is rooted in service, sacrifice, and improving the lives of ordinary people, insisting that his political ambition is driven not by personal gain but by a desire to uplift Okigwe Zone.<\/p>\n
Speaking at a recent political gathering attended by supporters and community stakeholders, Onyirimba delivered an emotional and reflective address in which he described service as his true calling.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy service is my calling. I know nothing else. Nothing gives me joy except seeing others happy,\u201d he said to loud cheers from the audience. \u201cWhatever I can do to ease people\u2019s pain is my true calling.\u201d<\/p>\n
The crowd repeatedly interrupted his speech with applause and emotional reactions as he recounted years of personal sacrifice and community involvement both in Nigeria and abroad.<\/p>\n
Onyirimba, who has spent decades in the United States, said despite living overseas, he has remained deeply connected to his roots, returning home consistently for more than 35 years.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am grounded in the village. I call myself a bushman,\u201d he said humorously, drawing laughter and applause from supporters.<\/p>\n
The respected attorney highlighted his extensive record of leadership and public service, citing his roles within the Igbo community in Georgia, the Nigeria Olympic Committee, the Nigeria\u2013American Chamber, the American Bar Association, and as Nigeria\u2019s Consul General in Atlanta.<\/p>\n
According to him, those experiences have equipped him with the exposure, influence, and international connections needed to attract opportunities and visibility to Okigwe Zone.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I could serve Nigerians in America, I can serve Okigwe Zone,\u201d he declared.<\/p>\n
Onyirimba also reflected on a missed opportunity in 2000 when former President Olusegun Obasanjo reportedly considered him for a ministerial appointment after receiving nominations from Nigerian ambassadors in New York, Washington D.C., and Atlanta.<\/p>\n
He explained that family considerations made political office in expedient at the time but added that he is now fully prepared to dedicate himself to public service.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday, I am a grandfather, and I am ready, willing, and fully able,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Positioning himself as an advocate of participatory democracy, Onyirimba promised that the people of Okigwe Zone would remain part of every major decision if elected into office.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven in Abuja, I will not act alone. On every major matter, I will return to you, present it, and seek your direction. Your voice will guide my vote,\u201d he told the gathering.<\/p>\n
He further pledged to use his networks and influence to create opportunities for young people through appointments, mentorship, and exposure.<\/p>\n
\u201cA Senator\u2019s value is not only in lawmaking. It is in negotiation, influence, leadership, and the ability to open doors,\u201d Onyirimba stated.<\/p>\n
Emphasising that he was not entering politics out of economic necessity, he said, \u201cI am not jobless. I have come to serve.\u201d<\/p>\n
The speech ended with a call for collective action and partnership, as he urged supporters to contribute their ideas, influence, and resources toward building what he described as \u201ca new Okigwe Zone.\u201d<\/p>\n
