Nigeria\u2019s ever-fluid political terrain witnessed another dramatic shift on Tuesday as no fewer than 17 members of the House of Representatives elected on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) formally defected to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), deepening what appears to be a fast-building realignment ahead of future electoral contests.<\/p>\n
The announcement was made on the floor of the House by Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, who read out the names of the defecting lawmakers in accordance with parliamentary procedure.
