Nigeria\u2019s evolving political landscape continues to expose the fragility of smaller opposition platforms, as fresh cracks emerge within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).<\/p>\n
In what observers are already interpreting as a sign of deepening instability, a key figure of the influential Kwankwasiyya movement in Kano State, Hon. Kabiru Adamu Abdullahi, has formally exited the party, following a directive reportedly linked to the political machinery of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.<\/p>\n
The resignation, which took immediate effect, was conveyed in a letter dated May 1, 2026, and addressed to the ADC ward leadership in Kofar Ruwa, Kano.<\/p>\n
Abdullahi, a House of Assembly aspirant, representing Dala Local Government Area, cited compliance with the leadership structure of the Kwankwasiyya movement, as the basis for his decision, an indication of where true political loyalty may lie, beyond party platforms.<\/p>\n
His exit underscores a recurring dilemma for parties like the ADC: the struggle to retain cohesion in the face of dominant political personalities and entrenched political movements that often supersede party ideology.
