A fresh leadership crisis is brewing within Nigeria\u2019s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), following a dramatic declaration by Alhaja Hafsatu Danladi, who has publicly asserted herself as the party\u2019s authentic national chairperson.<\/p>\n
The development, which escalated on Wednesday, signals deepening divisions within the party\u2019s top hierarchy and raises fresh concerns about its internal stability ahead of the 2027 general elections.<\/p>\n
The crisis is understood to have intensified after a high-level reconciliation meeting convened at the instance of the President failed to produce any meaningful outcome. Rather than douse tensions, the meeting reportedly exposed widening cracks, culminating in the emergence of a rival leadership structure.<\/p>\n
Sources familiar with the dispute revealed that the standoff between opposing camps had been building for days before taking a dramatic turn. The faction aligned with Nentawe Yilwatda allegedly made a financial offer of \u20a640 billion to the rival group led by Danladi in a bid to resolve the impasse. In light of recent developments within the party, I will be approaching the Federal High Court in Abuja to challenge the legitimacy of the current leadership.<\/p>\n
This action seeks to unseat what I consider an illegitimate structure presently overseeing the affairs of our great party.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, I will be requesting the court to direct the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to discontinue recognition of the National Working Committee (NWC) led by Mr. Nentawe Yilwatda.<\/p>\n
This step is necessary to uphold the rule of law, protect the integrity of our party, and ensure that due process is followed in its leadership.<\/p>\n
