In a defining moment of civic awakening, the women of Okigwe on Monday came together under a bold and purposeful initiative, \u2018Operation Show Your PVC\u2019, a grassroots programme designed to remind the people of one simple but powerful truth: your Permanent Voter\u2019s Card (PVC) is your political voice, your civic weapon, and your democratic power house.<\/p>\n
The programme, which was organised by Hon. Favour Nwelue (Ada Okigwe), was not a rally of noise, but a movement of conscience. The women gathered enthusiastically, waving the Almighty plastic card in the air.<\/p>\n
At the end of the day, it was resolved that the mobilisers would move from streets to homes, from markets to meeting points, engaging constituents one-on-one, asking a critical question: Do you have your PVC? Those who did would proudly show theirs while those who don\u2019t would be encouraged, educated, and mobilised to obtain one without delay. <\/p>\n
It was a peaceful but firm call to responsibility; democracy begins with participation.<\/p>\n
Operation Show Your PVC was built on a clear understanding: elections are not won only at polling units; they are won long before, when citizens prepare themselves with the one document that validates their right to choose. <\/p>\n
The PVC is more than a card; it is proof of citizenship in action. Without it, complaints are empty, protests are weak, and political exclusion becomes self-inflicted.<\/p>\n
The Okigwe women understood this deeply. They recognised that the future of their communities, security, development, representation, and dignity, depends on who gets elected, and who gets elected depends on who shows up to vote.<\/p>\n
By pushing PVC awareness, they were safeguarding Okigwe\u2019s stake in governance and resisting the culture of apathy that has robbed many communities of their voice.<\/p>\n
Importantly, the initiative sent a strong message: women are not spectators in democracy; they are stakeholders and mobilisers of change. By leading this programme, the women of Okigwe demonstrated that civic responsibility starts from the grassroots and that meaningful political participation does not require permission, only conviction.<\/p>\n
The importance of the PVC cannot be overstated. It is the gateway to accountability. Leaders listen when citizens vote. Governments respond when the electorate is active. A community without PVC holders is a community silenced before the conversation even begins.<\/p>\n
Operation Show Your PVC was, therefore, not just about cards; it was about consciousness. It was about preparing Okigwe people to stand, be counted, and shape their destiny.<\/p>\n
According to Ada Okigwe: \u201cthe call remains clear and urgent: get your PVC, keep it safe, and use it wisely when needed. Because in a democracy, power does not belong to the loudest voice; it belongs to the prepared voter.\u201d<\/p>\n
Beyond awareness, Operation Show Your PVC carries a deeper, strategic responsibility for the women of Okigwe: to mobilise, organise, and vote wisely for a capable and credible voice that will truly speak for the zone. <\/p>\n
\u201cHaving the PVC is the first step; using it to enthrone competence is the ultimate goal,\u201d Nwelue further said. \u201cOkigwe deserves representation anchored on clarity of thought, courage, integrity, and the ability to defend the people\u2019s interests with both intellect and conviction. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe women understand that the era of weak, absent, or transactional representation must give way to purposeful leadership, someone who understands the law, the system, and the language of advocacy; someone tested in character, firm in principle, and committed to service rather than self.\u201d <\/p>\n
As the momentum builds, discerning eyes are already drawn toward a calm but formidable legal mind whose consistency, credibility, and deep-rooted connection to the zone inspire confidence. The message is subtle but clear: with PVCs in hand and unity of purpose, Okigwe women can rally behind a voice that knows how to speak, and be heard, on their behalf.
