Ayo Fayose, the former Governor of Ekiti State governor, has engaged former President Olusegun Obasanjo in a verbal spat, following the latter\u2019s remarks at his 65th birthday celebration on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Obasanjo had used the occasion to rebuke Fayose for his behaviour towards him.<\/p>\n
However, Fayose in an sms \u2018Thank you\u2019 letter to Obasanjo for attending his ceremony, Fayose lampooned the former president for his statements and alleged that Obasanjo was suffering from dementia.<\/p>\n
Obasanjo\u2019s Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, on Monday made the \u2018Thank you\u2019 note available to newsmen in Abeokuta.<\/p>\n
\u201cDear Baba Obasanjo, I trust this meets you well.Your coming to my birthday party, I appreciate you except for your very irresponsible comments at your age. You went so low but I am not surprised because someone once said you are supposed to be kept away in the zoo. Sincerely that\u2019s where you belong,” the biting note read. <\/p>\n
\u201cI kept quiet or did not reply you at the function so that the world will know the difference between a sane and a mad man that you are.It is also obvious that you have also lost your sanity OR should I say is the heightened stage of dementia.Not to worry Baba., I shall set the records straight in due course of time.Lastly I shall appreciate if you return my money since you publicly admitted you received but Dangote brought u back.<\/p>\n
\u201cYour leopard will never change his skin\u201d, the letter reads.<\/p>\n
Responding to Fayose’s note, Obasanjo replied tacitly: \u201cAyo, thanks for your \u201cThank You\u201d message which undisguisedly revealed who and what you are, unchanged and unchangeable. Your money has been sent back through Foluso Adeagbo who brought it and in the same bag as he brought it unopened by me\u201d.Obj.\u201d
\nObasanjo had described Fayose at the birthday bash barely 48 hours earlier as \u201cnot the best\u201d of his political prot\u00e9g\u00e9s though he acknowledged his political accomplishments.<\/p>\n
