The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has shredded the Finland-based self-acclaimed Prime Minister of Biafra Government in Exile, Simon Ekpa for questioning the legitimacy of South-east governors and other political leaders in the zone to negotiate the release of the leader of the Independent People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, from detention.<\/span><\/p>\n Ekpa, had in a recent statement said the governors lacked the legitimacy to negotiate Kanu\u2019s freedom.<\/span><\/p>\n However, in a statement made available to journalists on Thursday, the apex zigbo socio-cultural group asked the governor’s to ignore Ekpa.<\/span><\/p>\n Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, appealed to the governors to step up the move to negotiate with the Federal Government over the release of the IPOB leader.<\/span><\/p>\n According to Okwu, governors remained the leaders of the zone, and wondered how someone in far away Finland would accuse them of lacking legitimacy.<\/span><\/p>\n The statement said: \u201cIt is curious to hear Simon Ekpa say the governors lack legitimacy. These are elected leaders of the people. If they lack legitimacy, is it self-serving Ekpa that is in far away Finland that has legitimacy?<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cOne is forced to ask- what really does Simon Ekpa want? Why is always against any move to get Mazi Nnamdi Kanu off the hook?<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe answer is simple- he is benefiting from the prolonged detention of the IPOB leader and time has come for everyone in Igbo land to understand that Simon Ekpa does not in any way work for the interest of the people, rather he is doing business with Biafra agitation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n It urged the governors to explore every means to ensure that Kanu was released as soon as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n The statement further read: \u201cThey should not in any way be distracted by Ekpa\u2019s antics.
