Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has succumbed to court order to file his defence in the terrorism charges brought against him by the Federal Government.<\/p>\n
Kanu, who is currently filing his defence documents at the Federal High Court in Abuja, as directed by the trial judge, Justice James Omotosho, had initially refused to do so, claiming that there was nothing to defend.<\/p>\n
Following a series of complaints by Kanu, the judge ordered that the court\u2019s registry be temporarily relocated to his courtroom to facilitate the filing.<\/p>\n
Counsel to the Federal Government, Adegboyega Awomolo, informed the court that he would accept the processes from Kanu within the courtroom and respond accordingly.<\/p>\n
At the time of this report, the filing of the defence documents was ongoing, with the judge standing down proceedings for one hour.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
