President Bola Tinubu has shaken up the Armed Forces of Nigeria with changes in it’s hierarchy in a bid to give Nigeria’s nation\u2019s security fresh impetus.<\/p>\n

Announcing the changes in a statement, Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, said the new appointments take immediate effect.<\/p>\n

The new arrangement relieved General Christopher Musa of his position as the Chief of Defence Staff. He was replaced by General Olufemi Oluyede.<\/p>\n

Also, Major-General W. Shaibu has emerged as the Chief of Army Staff, while Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke comes on board as the new Chief of Air Staff.<\/p>\n

Completing the shakeup is Rear Admiral I. Abbas who was appointed as the Chief of Naval Staff.<\/p>\n

However, Major-General E.A.P. Undiendeye, the Chief of Defence Intelligence, remains in his position.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Bola Tinubu has made changes in the hierarchy of the Service Chiefs in furtherance of the efforts of the Federal Government of Nigeria to strengthen the national security architecture.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe President appointed General Olufemi Oluyede to replace General Christopher Musa as the new Chief of Defence Staff.<\/p>\n
