The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has again landed on the spotlight after it suspended the sale of petrol in naira.<\/p>\n

This is coming on the heels of the recent alleged mass sack of Nigerian workers which it denied.<\/p>\n

The suspension of the sale of petrol in naira has unsettled the oil marketers and raised fresh fears about the price of fuel and pressure on the foreign exchange.<\/p>\n

However, the company in an email sent to its customers on Friday evening, September 26, 2025, said the decision would take effect from Sunday, September 28, 2025.<\/p>\n

It stated that the new measure was necessitated by the exhaustion of its crude-for-naira allocation.<\/p>\n

According to the email, which was titled \u201cSuspension of DPRP PMS Naira Sales \u2013 Effective 28th September 2025\u201d and signed by the Group Commercial Operations of Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals: \u201cWe write to inform you that Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has been selling petroleum products in excess of our Naira-Crude allocations and, consequently, we are unable to sustain PMS sales in Naira going forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cKindly note that this suspension of Naira sales for PMS will be effective from Sunday, 28th of September, 2025. We will provide further updates regarding the resumption of supply once the situation has been resolved.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll customers with PMS transactions in Naira who would like a refund of their current payments should formally request the processing of their refund.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, labour leaders have rejected the dismissal of over 800 Nigerian workers, describing it as \u201can unjust and insensitive corporate decision,\u201d and vowing to take actions if the dismissals are not reversed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
