The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has won all the 20 chairmanship seats in yesterday’s Lagos State Local Government elections, including the 37 Local Council Development Areas of the state.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
According that the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, which announced the result in a statement on Sunday, APC also won 375 councillorship positions, leaving only one ward, Ward D in Yaba, for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\n

Babatunde Dosunmu, a former APC member, who defected to the PDP shortly before the poll,\u00a0trounced the APC contender to emerge victorious\u00a0in Ward D of the Yaba LCDA.<\/p>\n

LASIEC described the elections as largely peaceful, though there were concerns about low voter turnout and alleged irregularities in some places.<\/p>\n
