{"id":6816,"date":"2025-07-03T19:40:03","date_gmt":"2025-07-03T19:40:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/?p=6816"},"modified":"2025-07-03T19:42:12","modified_gmt":"2025-07-03T19:42:12","slug":"6816","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/index.php\/2025\/07\/03\/6816\/","title":{"rendered":"Presidency mocks Coalition leaders, says\u00a0 they are selfish power-hungry desperados\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-6817\" src=\"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/images2-300x158.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"158\" srcset=\"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/images2-300x158.jpg 300w, https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/images2.jpg 762w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>By Amah<\/p>\n<p>Kindly share:<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Presidency has described leaders of the anti-Tinubu coalition as desperate politicians hungry for power for selfish ends.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, in a statement issued on Thursday urged Nigerians to be wary of the opposition coalition.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0The coalition had on Tuesday announced its adoption of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, as the platform on which to contest the 2027 elections.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Among the leaders of the coalition are\u00a0 former vice president Atiku Abubakar,\u00a0 former Senate president David Mark, who was named as interim national chairman, former Osun State governor Rauf Aregbesola, also named as interim national secretary of the ADC,<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, former Rivers governor, Chibuike Amaechi and former Attorney General of the Federation and minister of justice, among several others.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;My advice to Nigerians: Keep your eyes wide open. A political party with no clear agenda or ideology \u2014 whose members are united only by their hatred for President Tinubu\u2014 cannot be good for our country. It will only set us back by decades,&#8221;. Onanuga said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cThese politicians are desperados, hungry for power, not for the benefit of Nigerians but for themselves.
