{"id":6647,"date":"2025-06-25T15:26:02","date_gmt":"2025-06-25T15:26:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/?p=6647"},"modified":"2025-06-25T15:26:02","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T15:26:02","slug":"why-air-india-crashed-report-fingers-faulty-pilots-seat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/index.php\/2025\/06\/25\/why-air-india-crashed-report-fingers-faulty-pilots-seat\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Air India crashed, report fingers faulty pilot&#8217;s seat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6648\" src=\"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/download-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" \/><\/p>\n<p>By Amah<\/p>\n<p>Kindly share:<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The report which is the outcome of the investigation conducted by Indian authority into the incident revealed that the pilot\u2019s seat slid backwards while taking off which caused the captain\u2019s hands to mistakenly pull the throttle levers to idle.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">This resulted in the\u00a0 sudden loss of thrust by the engine of\u00a0 the aircraft to lift it causing it to\u00a0 crash into a nearby building housing medical workers killing 241 out of the 242 on board, including the two captains and the hostesses.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The report further revealed that the co-pilot\u2019s attempt to regain control was blocked by the captain\u2019s reclined position when his seat slid backward.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Investigators further stated that the aircraft lacked key safety features in it&#8217;s 787\u2019s throttle system, such as reverse-motion protection and weight-based lockouts.
