The National Opposition Coalition Group, has formed a new political party, the All Democratic Alliance, ADA.<\/div>\n
\n

To formalise its intention, the group has applied to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the registration of the proposed party.<\/p>\n

The coalition\u2019s application, which is dated June 19, was on Friday, June 20, acknowledged by INEC.<\/p>\n

The opposition party is being led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai..<\/p>\n

Some other political stalwarts in the coalition include Rotimi Amaechi, a former Rivers State Governor and minister of transportation,\u00a0 and Umar Ardo, convener of the League of Northern Democrats and former aide to President Olusegun Obasanjo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
The group aims to dislodge President Bola Tinubu from office the 2027 presidential election.<\/div>\n
The group’s application letter to INEC was jointly signed by the association\u2019s Protem National Chairman, Chief Akin A. Rickets, and Protem National Secretary, Abdullahi Elayo.\u201cWe respectfully write to the Independent National Electoral Commission, requesting the registration of our association, the All Democratic Alliance, as a political party,” the letter partly read.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a sequel to the decision taken by the Nigerian National Coalition Group to sponsor our association for full registration.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe name of the party shall be All Democratic Alliance with ADA as our acronym and \u2018Justice for All\u2019 as our slogan.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have further attached our manifesto encompassing details of our party ideology and our constitution providing the legal framework that defines our identity, structures, and organisation,\u201d the letter concluded.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
