The Gombe State Police Command has arrested a 47-year-old man for allegedly raping his two- year-old step-daughter.<\/div>\n

According to DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the Command\u2019s spokesperson, who disclosed this in a press statement on Tuesday,\u00a0the offence\u00a0 was reportedly committed by one Mohammed Magaji of Tudun Wada, Shamaki Quarters, Gombe<\/div>\n
on May 5.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The suspect was arrested, following a report from his wife.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cOn May 5, about 09:32am, a formal complaint was received from one Hauwau Usman of Tudun Wada, Shamaki quarters,” Abdullahi disclosed.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cUsman reported that on May 5, about 09:00am, her husband took his two-year-old step daughter to his room and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.\u201d<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
On receiving the report, a team of policemen went to the scene and arrested Magaji.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The police spokesperson further said that both the victim and the suspect were rushed to the Specialist Hospital for medical attention, adding that the matter\u00a0would be charged to court after the investigation.<\/div>\n
