Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has rubbished tge preparedness of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,\u00a0 for the 2027 general elections.<\/p>\n

Wike, a PDP member serving in tge ruli g APC administration, disclosed during a live media parley in Abuja on Friday, that the PDP lacked a formidable structure needed to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2027.<\/p>\n

Although the opposition leaders across the country are intensifying efforts to form a united front against the APC, the anticipated coalition is not going as planned due to the\u00a0divergent interests of key stakeholders.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe PDP is not ready for the 2027 election. It is very obvious. For instance, I have an examination and I am going to class to read. Indeed, am I reading? Am I studying? You don\u2019t need to deceive anybody that you are reading. You are only trying to read so that people will see that you have carried your bag to class, Wike said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is the situation of the PDP. So, they cannot say for sure that they are ready for 2027. Power struggle cannot help\u00a0the\u00a0party.\u201d<\/p>\n

The minister who has been having protracted running battle with Sim Fubara, the suspended Governor of Rivers Stste, his political godson and handpicked successor, confessed thst his plan was to remove Fubara from office but was hampered when President intervened by imposing stste of emergency on the state.<\/div>\n
\u201cAs a politician, I am not happy about the state of emergency in Rivers State. I wanted the outright removal of Governor Fubara. The president, by declaring a state of emergency, saved Fubara,\u201d Wike said.\u201cThe governor was gone. He was gone, yes\u2026 so when people say the president did this, I say they should be praising him.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery morning, they should go to the president and ask, \u2018Can we wash your feet for saving us?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
