Pascal Dozie is dead<\/p>\n

Dozie, who founded the bank now subsumed by Access Bank, died on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, a day to 86th birthday.<\/div>\n
\nHe was born on April 9, 1939, in Egbu, Owerri North Local Government Area, Imo State.<\/p>\n

He was also the pioneer Chairman of MTN Nigeria.<\/p>\n

Dozie attended Our Lady\u2019s School in Emekuku before proceeding to the London School of Economics, where he earned a degree in Economics and a Master\u2019s in Administrative Science.<\/p>\n

He founded Diamond Bank in 1991, transforming it into a highly respected financial institution in Nigeria. He later passed the leadership to his son, Uzoma Dozie.<\/p>\n

He played a crucial role in the country\u2019s telecom revolution being the pioneer chairman of MTN Nigeria.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\u00a0In his lifetime, Dozie earned national recognition, including the Commander of the Order of the Niger, CON, honourdue his immense contributions to the growth of Nigeria.<\/p>\n

The late business mogul is survived by his wife, Chinyere, and children.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
