Three suspected kidnappers have been dragged into the net of the Edo State Police Command.<\/p>\n

This was coming six days after collecting the sum of N10 million ransom to secure the release of their victims, one Sunday Ajibola and his mother-in-law.<\/p>\n
\nMoses Yamu, the Command\u2019s spokesperson,\u00a0 disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Benin City and identified\u00a0the suspects as Adamu Usman, Iliyasu Abubakar, and Safiyanu Mohammed.<\/p>\n

According to Yamu, during preliminary investigation, one of the sim cards recovered from the suspects was discovered to belong to one Ajibola Sunday of Igbirra camp in Auchi, who was\u00a0contacted and invited to the station.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\u00a0Sunday identified the suspect as a member of the eight-man-gang that kidnapped him and his mother-in-law\u00a0on March 11, 2025, adding that their families had to pay the sum of N10 million to secure their release.<\/p>\n

Yamu further disclosed that the suspects were arrested during a routine stop and search at UBA junction, Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area, by operatives of the Auchi Division, in collaboration with the Vigilante, on<\/p><\/div>\n

on March 16, 2025.<\/p>\n

He added that Adamu Usman of Hausa quarters was arrested after the operatives chased the young men, who had taken to their heels on sighting the Police, while his accomplice escaped.<\/p>\n

However, the other two suspects were later arrested during preliminary investigation.<\/p>\n

According to the police spokesperson, the sum of N1,345, 100, believed to be proceeds of kidnapping, five micro sim cards, one machete, one dagger, two phones, and a pack of cigarettes were recovered from the suspects during a\u00a0 search.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
