{"id":480,"date":"2024-07-01T14:24:36","date_gmt":"2024-07-01T14:24:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/?p=480"},"modified":"2024-07-01T14:24:36","modified_gmt":"2024-07-01T14:24:36","slug":"fg-terminates-three-road-contracts-after-14-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/index.php\/2024\/07\/01\/fg-terminates-three-road-contracts-after-14-years\/","title":{"rendered":"FG terminates three road contracts after 14 years\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-481\" src=\"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/images-2.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"289\" height=\"175\" \/><\/p>\n<p>By Publisher<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Ministry of Works has terminated three roads contracts with Mothercat Ltd., Dantata &amp; Sawoe Construction Ltd and RCC Ltd, respectively.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The contracts numbered 6,136, 6,137 and 6,138 were awarded 14 years ago but allegedly abandoned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The affected contracts included\u00a0 the dualisation of Obajana \u2013 Benin road, section II (Okene \u2013 Auchi) in Kogi\/Edo State; the dualisation of Obajana \u2013 Benin road, section III (Auchi \u2013 Ehor) in Edo State and the dualisation of Obajana \u2013 Benin road section IV (Ehor \u2013 Benin) in Edo State.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to a statement on Monday <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by Uchenna Orji, Special Adviser on Media to the Minister Works, Dave Umahi, the<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> minister said termination became necessary in view of the alleged inordinate delay by the affected companies in job performance and their failure, neglect and refusal to fulfill their contractual obligations as required by the Standard Conditions of Contract.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe projects which were awarded on 3rd December, 2012, were advertently abandoned by the contractors and no genuine commitment or good faith was shown towards executing the projects after accepting the considerations offered by the Federal Government and thereby exposing the road users to untold hardship due to the deplorable condition of the projects,\u201d the statement read.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe projects which were awarded on Dec. 3 2012 were abandoned by the contractors and no genuine commitment or good faith was shown towards executing the projects after accepting the considerations offered by the Federal Government.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThis thereby is exposing the road users to untold hardship due to the deplorable condition of the projects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe Federal Ministry of Works under my watch will not condone acts of unseriousness and sabotage by contractors whose plan is to become a clog in the wheel of progress of the Renewed Hope administration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cGoing forward, the government will not hesitate in terminating all projects that are funded but are non-performing.\u2019\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Publisher The Federal Ministry of Works has terminated three roads contracts with Mothercat Ltd., Dantata &amp; Sawoe Construction Ltd&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":481,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[168,166,167],"class_list":["post-480","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-dantata-and-sanwoe","tag-dave-umahi","tag-federal-ministry-of-works"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.8 -
