{"id":4665,"date":"2025-02-12T18:40:12","date_gmt":"2025-02-12T18:40:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/?p=4665"},"modified":"2025-02-12T18:47:58","modified_gmt":"2025-02-12T18:47:58","slug":"soludo-anambra-intensifies-crackdown-on-fake-native-doctors-seals-okija-shrine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/index.php\/2025\/02\/12\/soludo-anambra-intensifies-crackdown-on-fake-native-doctors-seals-okija-shrine\/","title":{"rendered":"Anambra intensifies crackdown on fake native doctors, seals Okija Shrine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4666\" src=\"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/OIF.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"288\" height=\"175\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Agunechemba security operatives<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">By Publisher<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Kindly share:<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Anambra State government has continued its onslaught against fake native doctors and criminal activities in the state.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>Consequently, the state government has\u00a0 sealed a shrine in Umuofor village, Okija, in Ihiala Local Government Area.<\/p>\n<p>The shrine was shut down, following numerous complaints from Okija residents against the alleged operator,<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Ekene Igboegbueze, a self-proclaimed native doctor who reportedly promises unsuspecting individuals great riches.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">According to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Security, Prince Ken Emeakai, the government&#8217;s action was necessitated by reports from the local community.\u201cIgboegbueze\u2019s business is illegal under Anambra State Homeland Security Laws.<br \/>\n\u201cAll items found in the shrine will undergo forensic examination, and the results will determine further government action,\u201d Emeakai said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He\u00a0 added that also sealed were all properties acquired through the illicit trade have.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>Chinenye Ihenko, the\u00a0Director of Operations, Agunechemba Security Outfit,\u00a0 warmed youths against patronising fake native doctors and clerics, adding that they should engage in legitimate ventures to avoid falling foul of the law.\u201cThe activities of fake spiritual leaders are fueling a get-rich-quick mentality in the state,\u201d Ihenko said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur mandate is to sanitize Anambra, and we are committed to that. Anything contributing to the desecration of the state or aiding criminal activities will be eradicated.
