FHC\/ABJ\/CS\/1613\/2023, filed on November 29, 2023, before Justice James Omotosho at the Federal High Court, Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>The suit pertained solely to the 2024 budget, which was fully utilised by December 31, 2024, marking the end of the fiscal year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe appeal is of no useful purpose in this year 2025, which has its budget. The only reasonable thing left to do was to withdraw the appeal and have it dismissed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis appeal that was withdrawn today has nothing to do with the seats of Martin Chike Amaewhule and his 26 friends in the Rivers State House of Assembly,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Ehie urged the public to refuse to be misled by what he described as false propaganda from Amaewhule and his group since\u00a0the case as regards their defections and status as lawmakers is still before the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">It will be recalled that the crisis rocking the splintered Rivers State House of Assembly is an extension of the battle between Nyesom Wike, former governor and now minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and Governor\u00a0 Fubara, his political godson, for who controls the structure of the state.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Martins Amaewhule and the other 26 lawmakers are said to be loyalists of the FCT
