{"id":4569,"date":"2025-02-04T05:05:13","date_gmt":"2025-02-04T05:05:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/?p=4569"},"modified":"2025-02-04T05:05:13","modified_gmt":"2025-02-04T05:05:13","slug":"3-lives-lost-in-kano-villagers-demolition-squad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/index.php\/2025\/02\/04\/3-lives-lost-in-kano-villagers-demolition-squad\/","title":{"rendered":"3 lives lost in Kano villagers, demolition squad\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4570\" src=\"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/download-6-290x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"290\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/download-6-290x300.jpeg 290w, https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/download-6.jpeg 332w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 290px) 100vw, 290px\" \/>Abba Yusuf, Kano governor<\/p>\n<p>By Amah<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Kindly share:<\/p>\n<p>A clash between security personnel and residents of Rimin Zakara village in Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State has resulted in the deaths of three people.<\/p>\n<p>Kano Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Waiya, told newsmen on Monday in Kano that the incident occurred on Sunday night during the demolition of illegal structures by a government team, which was resisted by the community.<\/p>\n<p>The dispute revolved around a parcel of land claimed by Bayero University Kano which had requested government intervention to stop encroachment by the villagers.<\/p>\n<p>There was a confrontation between security personnel that accompanied the demolition team and the villagers as the team moved in to remove the structures.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe commissioner said that three security personnel from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) personnel were seriously injured and receiving treatment at a hospital.<\/p>\n<p>He told newsmen that the state government had announced plans to set up a high-powered committee to investigate the incident.
