{"id":3703,"date":"2024-12-11T14:23:02","date_gmt":"2024-12-11T14:23:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/?p=3703"},"modified":"2024-12-11T14:23:02","modified_gmt":"2024-12-11T14:23:02","slug":"nnpcl-busts-34-illegal-refineries-in-seven-days-nab-19-suspects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/index.php\/2024\/12\/11\/nnpcl-busts-34-illegal-refineries-in-seven-days-nab-19-suspects\/","title":{"rendered":"NNPCL busts 34 illegal refineries, in seven days, nab 19 suspects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3704\" src=\"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/NNPC2-750x536-1-300x214.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/NNPC2-750x536-1-300x214.png 300w, https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/NNPC2-750x536-1.png 750w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>By Publisher<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Kindly share:<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, has said it busted about 34 illegal refineries and 17 pipeline connections in seven days.<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>It also revealed that a\u00a0total of 19 suspects were arrested in connection with the crime and handed over to security operatives for further investigation.<\/p>\n<p>The company made the disclosure was made in a video documentary posted on its official YouTube channel on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>According to the video,\u00a0 the illegal activities were busted at different locations across the Niger Delta region in operations tagged \u2018War On Crude\u00a0 Theft\u2019 between November 30 and December 6.<\/p>\n<p>The operations were carried out in collaboration of NNPCL command and control centres, OANDO PLC, government security agencies, Maton Engineering Nigeria Ltd. and Shell Petroleum Development Company, Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">NNPCL added that a total of 94 oil theft incidents were recorded in parts of Bayelsa and Abia Rivers states.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;In a series of coordinated operations, illegal pipelines were discovered and dismantled at key hotspots \u2013 Ogboingbiri, Ejehinkiri, Alabelema in Bayelsa State,&#8221; the company said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>\u201cAnd Okrika 7 in Rivers state witnessed swift action as security forces uncovered an illicit setup used by perpetrators to exploit Nigeria\u2019s resources.\u201cRepairs were carried out promptly restoring the pipelines to full functionality and fortifying the nation\u2019s hydrocarbon infrastructure.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>The company added: \u201cThe crackdown didn\u2019t stop there.
