{"id":3697,"date":"2024-12-11T10:56:26","date_gmt":"2024-12-11T10:56:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/?p=3697"},"modified":"2024-12-11T10:56:26","modified_gmt":"2024-12-11T10:56:26","slug":"horror-as-man-slits-infant-sons-throat-for-ritual-in-ogun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/index.php\/2024\/12\/11\/horror-as-man-slits-infant-sons-throat-for-ritual-in-ogun\/","title":{"rendered":"Horror as man slits infant son&#8217;s throat for ritual in Ogun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3698\" src=\"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/download.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"292\" height=\"172\" \/><\/p>\n<p>By Amah<\/p>\n<p>Kindly share:<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command has arrested one\u00a0Ifagbenga Taiwo, a trainee herbalist for allegedly slitting the throat of his 41-day-old son for ritual purposes.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The infant&#8217;s killing in the Keesi area of Adatan, Abeokuta, the state capital, has sent shockwaves across the spines of residents who consider the chilling murder as an abomination.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nIt was reported that the suspect perpetrated the heinous act on Monday, as the baby\u2019s mother, Raimat Wasilat,\u00a0 washed clothes outside their home after laying the baby on the bed.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Sadly, when she back to the room, she discovered lifeless body of the baby with a slit throat and raised alarm, which attracted the attention of neighbours, who rushed to her aid.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The neighbours discovered that the suspect had gained access to the room\u00a0 through a wooden window, killed the baby by slitting his throat.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nOmolola Odutola, the spokespersonn of state police command, who confirmed the incident disclosed that Taiwo has since been arrested by the police in the South West state and taken into custody.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0\u201cAt about 1400hrs, the police received a report from the Iteesi Itoko area in Abeokuta regarding the slaughter of a two-month-old infant, Ifakorede Ajani, inside the room where his mother had placed him on a bed,&#8221; Odutola said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe mother, Raimat Wasilat, from Keesi, strongly suspected her husband, Ifagbenga Taiwo, who is training to be a herbalist.
