The Labour Party has vowed to take legal action against lawmakers elected in its platform, who recently dumped that party and defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
The party also said it would request the leadership of the House of Representatives to declare the seats of the lawmakers vacant.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the opposition party, in a statement issued in Abuja by the its National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, disclosed:\u00a0 However, Ifoh said in the statement: \u201cThe party has also decided to open a \u2018Hall of Shame\u2019 register for these lawmakers or any elected official of the party who engages in fraudulent defection without first relinquishing the mandate obtained under the party\u2019s ticket.”<\/p><\/div>\n

The defection letters of five LP lawmakers, who crossed carpet to the ruling APC were on Thursday read on the floor of the Green Chamber by the Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas.<\/div>\n
\nThe members of the House who defected compromised Tochukwu Okere (Imo);\u00a0 Iyawe Esosa (Edo); Bassey Akiba (Cross River); Daulyop Fom (Plateau) and Donatus Mathew (Kaduna).<\/div>\n
