A fire outbreak on Wednesday gutted some sections of Radio Nigeria, Ikoyi Lagos, destroying multi-million naira properties.<\/p>\n

The incident, which began in the evening, did not record any casualty but was contained through the joint efforts of fire service groups in the area.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\u00a0Margaret Adeseye, the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service,\u00a0 confirmed the incident, and disclosed that the fire and rescue service responded promptly when it got the information at about 5:30 p.m.<\/div>\n

According to her, the firefighters from Dolphin, Ebute Elefun, and Oba Oniru Fire Stations were promptly deployed to the scene as first responders.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is attending to a Fire outbreak at the Radio Nigeria on Plot No. 35, Ikoyi Rd, Ikoyi, Lagos,” Adeseye said.<\/p>\n

Adeseye said: \u201cThe Agency which was alerted at about 17:30 hours had Firefighters from Dolphin, Ebute Elefun and Oba Oniru Fire Stations as first responders who met the Fire well-alight due to the substances involved in the material composition of the studio section.”<\/p>\n

Furthermore, she disclosed: \u201cThe public is, however, assured that the collaborative efforts with the Federal Fire Service and other Emergency Responders including the Nigerian Police has put the situation under control and confined it to the studio section of the U-shape one storey building where it emanated,” adding that there were no casualties.<\/p><\/div>\n
