Operatives of the Imo State Police Command have nabbed a suspected child trafficker in Owerri, the Imo State capital.<\/div>\n

Henry Okoye, the Command’s Spokesperson, who disclosed this also said three trafficked children were recovered from the 36-year-old suspect.<\/div>\n
It was gathered that the suspected trafficker abducted the three children in Anambra State but was arrested at the popular Ama-JK area of Owerri, following,\u00a0a thorough investigation and intelligence operation.<\/div>\n

Okoye added that the suspect confessed to the offence, and revealed that she belonged to a syndicate, which is based in Onitsha, Anambra State, which buys the children from her.<\/p>\n

\u201cOperatives of the Imo State Police Command\u2019s Quick Intervention Unit have arrested a 36-year-old woman suspected of child trafficking and rescued three children she had stolen in Anambra State,” Okoye said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe arrest followed a thorough investigation and intelligence-driven operation conducted on 20th November 2024 in Amajeke, Owerri. The children have since been safely reunited with their families.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\"\"\u201cOn interrogation, the suspect confessed to her involvement in child trafficking, revealing that she works with a syndicate based in Onitsha, to whom she sells stolen children. She further explained that her primary targets are children of unsuspecting parents in both Anambra and Imo States.<\/p>\n

\u201cInvestigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicate still at large. The suspect will be charged in court once the investigation is completed.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
