The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has highlighted its achievements in the last one year.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The anti-graft agency disclosed at a press briefing addressed by Wilson Uwujaren, its Director of Public Affairs, in Abuja on Thursday, that it secured 3,455 convictions and recovered over N248 billion in proceeds of crimes\u00a0 since the the coming of its chairperson Ola Olukoyede in office a year ago.<\/div>\n
\n

\u201cIn the past one year, the EFCC under Olukoyede\u2019s watch secured 3455 convictions across all categories of financial crimes and corruption,\u201d\u00a0\u00a0Uwujaren\u00a0said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Olukoyede was confirmed the EFCC boss in July last year to replace his predecessor, Abdulrasheed Bawa.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The EFCC released details of the financial recoveries, comprising $105.4 million, \u00a353,133, and several other foreign currencies.<\/div>\n
\n

The agency also returned 53 stolen vehicles to Canadian authorities and seized multiple properties.<\/p>\n

The EFCC spokesperson also revealed some cases involving high-profile individuals, including\u00a0four former governors.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Former Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, faces two sets of charges in different courts.<\/p>\n

Other former governors were Darius Ishaku,\u00a0\u00a0Taraba State; Willie Obiano,\u00a0 Anambra, and Abdulfatah Ahmed, Kwara.<\/p><\/div>\n

According to Uwaujaren, there were other cases the EFCC did not want to reveal the details yet.<\/div>\n
