Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a man for allegedly killing a woman and her son at\u00a0 Elemoro area of Lagos over an argument on who to clean the compound.<\/span><\/p>\n The suspect, Vincent Ukpai, was said to have beaten the\u00a0 woman, Gloria, and her son, to death over an argument about who should clean their compound in the Elemoro area of the state.<\/span><\/p>\n Benjamin Hundeyin, a Superintendent of Police, and spokesperson of the state police command, said on September 15, at about 10:50 am, information was received at Elemoro Police Station that\u00a0 Vincent Ukpai killed\u00a0 a woman and her son, who were his\u00a0 neighbours.<\/span><\/p>\n The suspect was also accused of putting the remains of the deceased in a big \u2018Ghana must go bag\u2019 bag, intending to dispose of them before a neighbour invited the police.<\/span><\/p>\n Hundeyin added that detectives from Elemoro police station rushed to the scene and arrested the suspect and recovered the bodies from him.<\/span><\/p>\n He said: \u201cThe bodies have\u00a0 been deposited at Epe General Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and preservation, while investigation is ongoing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Meanwhile, a 54- years-old man, reportedly committed suicide by hanging\u00a0 at Agege area of the state.<\/span><\/p>\n According to Hundeyin: \u201cOn September 15, at about 8:40pm a complainant reported at Elere Police Station, that her younger brother,Olatunji, committed suicide by hanging in their house store.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cOfficers from the station immediately visited the scene and lowered the deceased. He\u00a0 was taken to Orile Agege General Hospital,where he was certified dead by the medical doctor on duty.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cNo mark of violence was found on the body of the deceased and the corpse has been deposited at Mainland hospital mortuary, Yaba for autopsy.
