Kindly share:<\/span><\/p>\n Adamu Usman, 18, has narrated how he was caught by juju while stealing artifacts from the residence of the Esama of Benin Kingdom, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, at the Government Reservation Area, Benin, the Edo State capital.<\/span><\/p>\n Usman was paraded by the Edo State Police Command alongside 27-year-old Ibrahim Yahaya, who was arrested for kidnapping Mr. Igbinosun Evans, a leader of Ugbogui Community, Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.<\/span><\/p>\n Nemi Iwo, the state Commissioner of Police, represented by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Moses Yamu, said Usman was arrested following reports of theft of artifacts from the residence of the Esama of Benin worth N500 million.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0Usman confessed to the crime, saying he was deceived by one of the suspects (now at large) to come to Esama\u2019s house to steal the artifacts, but that he was arrested by some juju in Esama\u2019s residence,\u201d\u00a0 he said while being interrogated.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI was deceived by the man that took me there. He did not tell me we were going to steal. When we got there, he said I should jump the fence and when I did so, the security came, and he ran away, while I was caught by juju, because I became confused until the security caught me after which I regained my consciousness.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Meanwhile, Yahaya was said to have collected N7 million before releasing his hostage.<\/span><\/p>\n According to police spokesperson: \u201cFollowing reports of theft of artifacts from the residence of the Esama of Benin, Chief Dr Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, located at Okada Avenue, GRA Benin City, operatives of the Command on surveillance around the residence arrested one Adamu Usman \u2018m\u2019 18yrs on 23\/07\/2024 at about 0130 hrs while trying to steal artifacts.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0\u201cThe worth of the stolen artifacts is about N500 million.
