{"id":2021,"date":"2024-08-30T22:16:55","date_gmt":"2024-08-30T22:16:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/?p=2021"},"modified":"2024-08-30T22:45:51","modified_gmt":"2024-08-30T22:45:51","slug":"shock-as-bruno-labbadia-rejects-super-eagles-job","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/index.php\/2024\/08\/30\/shock-as-bruno-labbadia-rejects-super-eagles-job\/","title":{"rendered":"Shock as Bruno Labbadia rejects Super Eagles job"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2022\" src=\"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Screenshot_20240830-231240-300x255.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"255\" srcset=\"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Screenshot_20240830-231240-300x255.jpg 300w, https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Screenshot_20240830-231240.jpg 674w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Bruno Labbadia<\/p>\n<p>By Publisher<\/p>\n<p>Kindly share:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bruno Labbadia, the German tactician, who was announced as the new coach of Nigeria\u2019s senior male football team, the Super Eagles, has reportedly turned down the offer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, had on Tuesday announced that the German would take charge of the Super Eagles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, that announcement was made by the football house without first reaching contractual agreement with the 58-year-old German.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This error may be the reason\u00a0 the former Germany international striker now rejected the chance to manage the three-time African champions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, in another development, the botched deal was blamed on the\u00a0 stringent German tax regulations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the NFF president Ibrahim Musa Gusau, the federation and Labbadia had been on the tax issue for three days although they had reached an agreement in principle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a statement, Gussu said: \u201cThe NFF and Mr. Labbadia reached an agreement in principle before we made the announcement that he would become the Head Coach of the Super Eagles. The tax details were never part of our discussions, and he had personally agreed to all terms before the tax issue came up.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe were doing our best to be flexible in the discussions, but he was adamant that the NFF had to pay the full tax amount as well.
