Israel completes operation in southern Gaza, recovers dead bodies of captives<\/span><\/p>\n The Israeli Defence Forces, IDF has announced completion of its mission in Southern Gaza, which brought\u00a0 in a wave of devastation in the area, reports Starconnectmedia.com.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The IDF also recovered six dead bodies, captives who were abducted by the Palestinian Resistance Movement, Hamas in the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIn a joint operation of the Paratroopers Brigade with the Yahalom Unit, the bodies of the hostages, Yagev Buchshtab z\u201dl, Alexander Dancyg z\u201dl, Avraham Munder z\u201dl, Yoram Metzger z\u201dl, Nadav Popplewell z\u201dl, and Haim Perry z\u201dl, were rescued and returned to the State of Israel\u201d, IDF Spokesman, Daniel Hagari said in a statement.<\/span><\/p>\n He said the troops of the 98th Division have completed their divisional operation in the Khan Yunis and Deir al-Balah area, after about a month of simultaneous above and underground operational activity.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAs part of the operation, the troops eliminated over 250 terrorists and destroyed dozens of terrorist infrastructure. The Yahalom Unit, along with the 7th Brigade and the Paratroopers Brigade, located and destroyed 6 underground tunnel routes spanning approximately 6 kilometers.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201c In some of the tunnel routes the troops eliminated terrorist and located terrorist hideouts and weapons.\u00a0 The 7th Brigade operated in the Khan Yunis and Deir al-Balah areas, where they located weapons, neutralized dozens of ambushes and destroyed terror compounds.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cTroops of the 77th Battalion conducted a raid on a central Hamas outpost in Deir al-Balah, uncovering weapons, a rocket launcher, and intelligence documents. In coordination with the Yahalom Unit, they also identified and destroyed an underground tunnel route that was part of the terrorists\u2019 combat network in the area,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n Reacting to the return of the dead bodies\u00a0 on a\u00a0 Hebrew channel,\u00a0 Former head of the Operations Division in the \u201cisraeli\u201d army, Major General Yisrael Ziv said the six bodies that the army returned from Gaza represent the very sad days of \u201cisrael\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThey were captured alive and then died, frustrated by the state that failed to rescue them.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe painful reality is that \u201cisrael\u201d is divided, and the value of life is determined by affiliation, and the state\u2019s responsibility to defend its citizens has become determined by political affiliation.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe army pays the price in blood, and deals with an ongoing and dangerous escalation, and Netanyahu lives in the upper class, and does not approach during failure and grief.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIn \u201cisrael\u201d, failure is no longer examined, disasters are marginal, the collapse of the state\u2019s foundations is a matter of discussion, and respect is reserved only for one man who clings to power,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The Israeli Defence Forces on duty in Southern Gaza By Amah Kindly share: Israel completes operation in southern Gaza, recovers…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":2015,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2,3],"tags":[192],"class_list":["post-2014","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","category-politics","tag-israeli-defence-forces"],"yoast_head":"\n
