A 38-year-old nurse, in Anambra State has landed in police net for allegedly using hot iron to inflict injuries on her 13-year-old nephew.<\/span><\/p>\n The suspect, identified as Amarachukwu Nzekwe, who hails from Ezinifite in Aguata Local Government Area, accused the minor of stealing from her.<\/span><\/p>\n It was gathered that Nzekwe locked up the little boy at home without proper medication attention.<\/span><\/p>\n The incident, which trended on social media, was brought to the attention of Ify Obinabo, the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare.<\/span><\/p>\n Obinabo spoke after the victim was rescued, adding that the suspect had been handed over to the police for further investigations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n She also warned intending offenders to desist or face the law, insisting that such a dastardly act would not be tolerated in the state.<\/span><\/p>\n In a statement, the commissioner said the suspect claimed she only \u201cdisciplined\u201d the boy for stealing from her.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe perpetrator, Mrs. Nzekwe, a native of Ezinifite in the Aguata local government area of the state, said she only disciplined her nephew after he stole from her.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAccording to the perpetrator, the weapon used in inflicting the injury on the 13-year-old was a well-heated laundry iron, after which she locked him up at home without any proper medical attention.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt is important to note that the culprit is currently without her own child, which is why her little nephew was kept in her care.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAs at the time of this report, the suspect has been handed over to the police for further investigation and consequently charges the case to court,\u201d the commissioner added.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Publisher Kindly share: A 38-year-old nurse, in Anambra State has landed in police net for allegedly using hot iron…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":1547,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5,2],"tags":[535,274],"class_list":["post-1843","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-crime","category-news","tag-ify-obinabo","tag-ministry-of-women-affairs"],"yoast_head":"\n
